How a new non-profit journalism experiment is changing the game

In today’s media landscape, it’s more important than ever to have a dependable source of quality journalism. However, traditional journalism models are increasingly unsustainable. Enter Greenlight, a new non-profit experiment that is changing the game.

Greenlight is a community-supported investigative newsroom. We are dedicated to providing in-depth, multi-platform coverage of the stories that matter most to our community. Our team of experienced journalists works tirelessly to hold the powerful accountable and give voice to the voiceless.

But we can’t do it alone. We rely on the support of our community to fund our work. Through monthly donations, reader memberships, and foundation grants, we are able to sustain our operation and produce high-impact journalism that creates real change.

What We’ve Accomplished So Far

We exposed how a for-profit college was preying on low-income students and leaving them saddled with debt. As a result of our reporting, the state tightened regulations on for-profit colleges and the school was forced to shut down.

We also uncovered how a local hospital was mistreating its employees and endangering patient health. After our series ran, the hospital made significant changes to its policies and now provides better working conditions for its staff.

These are just two examples of the type of high-impact journalism we are doing at Greenlight. With your support, we will continue to hold the powerful accountable and give a voice to the voiceless.
